Lemon Ginger Honey Syrup
This sweet and spicy syrup is immune boosting, a great cold remedy and digestive aid.
Ginger is anti-inflammatory, warming to the body and can stimulate weak digestion. Lemons are packed with vitamin C to support the immune system and honey has strong anti-bacterial properties. You can mix a few tablespoons with warm water or use it as a “simple syrup” in cocktails.
Ingredients:
1 cup ginger, peeled and sliced
2 thick lemon slices
1/2 cup honey
1 1/2 cups water
Instructions:
Add all ingredients in a saucepan over medium- high heat and bring to a boil. Stirring occasionally so the honey is dissolved.
Once boiling, remove from heat. Cover and let sit for 1 hour and 15 minutes to allow the syrup to steep.
Once the syrup has cooled, strain and discard the ginger and lemon.
Transfer the syrup to a mason jar and store in the fridge.
